Stephen Popernik is a litigator whose practice focuses on high-stakes commercial disputes. He has represented global media companies, investment funds, individuals and financial institutions in federal and state court and in a variety of private dispute resolution settings. Stephen has significant experience in matters involving copyright, trademark, and false advertising. He also has experience representing financial institutions and professionals in connection with criminal and regulatory investigations.
Prior to joining Dontzin Nagy & Fleissig, Stephen was an associate in the New York offices of two global firms, and he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Brian M. Cogan, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He has devoted substantial time to representing individuals and non-profit organizations pro bono.
Before entering the practice of law, Stephen was an officer in the U.S. Navy and worked for several years in the film and television industry. Stephen is a member of the ABA Copyright Litigation Committee.
