Hon. Michael J. Dontzin
The Honorable Michael J. Dontzin was a founding partner of the firm. Judge Dontzin served as a Justice of the New York Supreme Court, New York County (1976–1992); Judge of the Criminal Court, City of New York (1973–1975); and Counsel to New York City Mayor John V. Lindsay (1966–1972).
After leaving the bench in 1992, Judge Dontzin joined Endispute (which later merged with Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services, or JAMS) and became one of the leading mediators and arbitrators in the New York area, successfully resolving hundreds of disputes involving securities and banking law, commercial contract rights, fraud, employment discrimination, property rights, and product liability.
